Is Scar self-insert?
A little. At first, Scar was based on my Vtuber personality and design, which is a reflection of what I do IRL with blood and gore vfx work. I became known as the 'Blood Queen' in my field of work, and tied that into Scarlet's lore. I was too lazy to come up with another alias, so I used Scar and it just stuck.

Is Scar your real name?
No, an alias! If you do know my real name, please use Scar on online platforms in reference to my Scar accounts. I only allow close friends know my real identity.

How did you come to make Scar?
Scarlet had an identity crisis in our first playthrough. So it's a bit of a mix between my work IRL, Tav (1st run) and the Dark Urge (2nd run). Before I created Durge Scar, I had a Tav before Scar who had a identity crisis name-wise. She started off with my vtuber name, then Violette, then finally Scarlet. Her origin is that of a blood queen/deity, and this was before I knew about the whole Bhaal shenanigans. When I created Durge Scarlet, I was astounded how perfect Durge was for her, it was similar to her story in my fanfic and I was like wtf is this. So I evolved her story even further with some Bhaal origins. So that was a very nifty coincidence. Since then I've been attached to her and it's very difficult for me to make a playthrough without her lol.

Do you work in the games industry and where?
Not at the moment, I'm in no rush to find work in the field again all things considered, so am taking this time for myself to work on things I want to work on.

What games did you work on?
If you play console, you most likely seen my work. I've shipped more than 5 titles.

What do you do in games?
I create real-time VFX, to keep it vague.

What VFX tools or game engines do you use?
For VFX work, I use in-house propriety tools, Photoshop, Substance Painter, After Effects, Embergen and Houdini. For game engines, in-house engines mostly in professional spaces. At home, I use Unreal Engine 5.

Can you mentor me?
At this time I am not mentoring anyone, this will be offered under my IRL alias if I decide to mentor someone.

Did you go to art school?
Yes, I have a BFA in Illustration.

What drawing tools do you use?
I use Adobe Photoshop CS6, Clip Studio Paint and Wacom Cintiq Pro 36". My traditional work is used with watercolors, ink, pencil, and gouache.

When did you start drawing?
Since I was a baby (lol). Jk, I was about 2 years old. My mother taught me how to draw, she is also an artist. I started digital art when I was 4 years old with MS Paint, later Photoshop 2.0. I got my first tablet when I was 15.

What are your thoughts on AI?
I don't like AI generative content (writing, art, etc). It's taking jobs away from many creatives, thus leaving us with no work, and it steals from artists. I also do not like NFTs.

Yes! Just let me know your username on patreon so I can check your eligibility.

How many times can I use a discount?
For former Patrons, one time. For current patrons, as many times possible. So, if you commission me at the 3 month mark, you get a 10% discount. If you commission again at month 4, you get the 10% discount again. Then 6 months you get upgraded to 15%, 9 months 20%, then 1 year 30% - which accrues into the next year as long as you are a member.

What if I unsub? Do I keep the discount if I were to re-sub?
Yes! So if you unsub at 3 months, you can use your discount of 10% one time. Then if you re-sub, you can use that 10% again up until you get upgraded to the 15%. So let's say you unsub after 1 month membership, that still counts, so if you resub, you have 2 more months to get the 10% discount. Un-subbing does not reset your discount progress

What if I skip a month using the discount? Or what if your comms are closed?
Here's what we'll do - you can stack the discounts with a cap of 60%. I'll have to see if this works so it'll be an experiment.

As a Patron, do the discounts accrue into the next year?
Yes! Even as a 1 month sub, you'll keep your accruals. And at 1 year mark, the 30% discount accrues into the next year. Discounts will not 'restart'. This is a way for me to say thank you for supporting my work.

Why do you keep some things early access such as the Pretty Particles Mod?
I do early access for a couple reasons:
1) When I add new assets there's potential for something to break, and I'm not confident yet to release to public. However, I want to give patrons the option to download EA version to not only test with but not have to wait for public version after most fixes are in.
2) I put a lot of time in this mod and even reverse engineered the BG3 tools because there was no documentation for VFX. VFX is a niche skill and I am an experienced professional in having shipped multiple AAA titles. I also am not working at this time since the industry is in a very rough spot for artists which is a number of reasons of either studios resorting to outsourcing, limited job roles/budget, and even ai art, so I do need to make income somehow. It's not ideal, but it's what I have right now.

A peculiar dancer named Scarlet joined our party. She is also infected with a parasite.

Scarlet seemed weaker the more days went by. We tried to help her, but she snapped at us.

(If not known she’s a dhampir) We came across a Monster Hunter looking for Astarion. Scarlet defends Astarion, keeping his identity safe. Why is she protecting a vampire spawn?

Scarlet is a dhampir! She tried to bite one of us! We complied and let her have her fill to help her get stronger.

We learned Scarlet was born a dhampir. She doesn’t know who her parents are.

We woke up late at night to Astarion and Scarlet about to kill each other.

We tried to give Scarlet the same rules as we did Astarion about feedings, but she did not listen. She promised to not hurt us.

We woke up and Alfira was brutally murdered! Scarlet had admitted to it. We need to keep our eye on her.

Romance: After spending the night with Scarlet, we learned she has a fear of touch and intimacy.

Scarlet has been acting off since we reached the shadow-cursed lands. (If known she's a dhampir: Astarion has also been acting off. Bloodthirst?)

Scarlet has been acting more and more off. Moreso than Astarion. She seems more unstable.

We woke up to Scarlet trying to kill one of us in our sleep.

We find out she has a dark urge inside her that she is internally trying to overcome, but is difficult due to her dhampiric nature.

We met Kressa Bonedaughter and found out Scarlet was experimented on by Kressa. Kressa was fascinated by Scarlet's physiology and wanted to learn more about dhampirs and tortured and experimented on Scarlet.

After defeating Myrkul and setting off for Baldur's Gate, Scarlet seemed apprehensive. She's been acting more and more strange.

Romance: She confides in us and we learn that she has trouble controlling her urges. Being a dhampir only makes her urges worse.

Scarlet has been acting less herself after we got to Rivington.

We encountered an Orin that claimed to be Scarlet's blood-kin.

Scarlet has been acting off since we reached Baldur's Gate. She has been trying to hide her wrists from us, and she seems weaker and is snapping at us. Why?

Scarlet disappeared in the middle of the night. We have to find her.

We talked to a nobleperson who told us there's a wedding planned at an estate.

We found the estate. Let's rescue Scarlet.

We killed Judge Rivorn, but deprived Scarlet the opportunity for revenge. She parted ways from us for good.

We asked her to leave after it was exposed that she's a dhampir. Not sure what will become of her.

She 'hunts' in the nude. For her it's more practical.

She walks around barefoot - she hates wearing shoes. Astarion calls her feral for this.

She loves to dance, sing and play violin.

Her fangs have a venom that can give her prey ecstasy. It's a way for her to immobilize them. She does not give her prey pain.

If a vampire drinks from her, they are able to experience the venom, not as strongly however if she were to bite one.

She is a Bhaal-blood dhampir variant, meaning she inherits the divine essence of Bhaal. She is a rare variant.

She hates baths, but she's ok with other sources of water such as rivers, springs or oceans.

She has a fear of touch and intimacy.

She hates being bound/constricted.

She hates officials, magistrates, judges, all that. Which she cringed when she found out Astarion was once a magistrate.

She was groomed and trained to be the perfect bride/housewife starting at the age of 7. She carries herself as a noble would.

She hates the idea of marriage.

Hasn't aged since she turned thirty due to her lineage.

Has no family name.

Scar can't read Common.

She can read Infernal and a little bit of Elvish. It's the only other languages she knows other than Common. She taught herself Infernal by mistake.

She has an aversion to sex and has a low sex drive, contrary to Astarion.

She was raised to be a proper lady, perfect. A doll. It is why she doesn't talk much, which sometimes bothers Astarion. She can be hard to read.

At first impression, many believe her to come from nobility. She was forced into nobility.

She was born from a pile of gore, that was found by her foster family.

She discovered her thirst for blood at a very young age.

Accidentally killed her childhood best friend.

She is banished from Evereska - her birth city.

She is a wanderer.

Was held captive for 26 years with an abuser. Lost her childhood, teenage and young adult years.

She is picky about the blood she drinks. She makes fun of Astarion for thinking Gale's blood smells good.

She lacks empathy, feeling anything but hate. She learns to feel from her companions.

She has not cried since she was seven.

She keeps her ponytail always up around others. She hates letting her hair down. It makes her feel vulnerable.

She is well-verse at deception and persuasion, able to talk her way out of most conflicts.

She is an orphan. She hates it when people pity her for it. She doesn't see it as a bad thing.

She keeps her dhampir nature secret along with her age. She's been experimented and abused in the past for it, so she pretends to be a half-elf for "normalcy".

Her love language is words of affirmation and quality time.

She lacks boundaries, but it is something she is working on. This is due to her lack of proper social interactions growing up.

She is callous and blunt. She will say what is on her mind without regards to others' feelings.

She has extreme trust issues. She will connect with your tadpole to really know if what you say you are, you are. She doesn't think of the consequences.

She heals slow. Her abuser made sure to lash at her until her body stopped healing, scarring over her wounds.

She is quiet and very good at reading others.

She never has sex with Astarion in act 1. She was turned off by him when he came onto her many times before, and he kept tryin.

She doesn't gossip, but she'll listen quietly. Astarion and Shadowheart will gossip with her in Elvish. Scar can understand it, but doesn't speak it well.

She has amnesia, but despite that, her ability to remember is terrible.

She was born outside of Evereska. A farmer family took her in after finding her.

She was able to sustain herself on mortal food, until she needed blood. Her foster family discovered early on after much confusion she is a vampire, perhaps dhampir. They weren't educated enough to understand her race.

They allowed her to feed on the animals in the barn discreetly, but monitored her feedings.

They were loving parents towards her.

Scarlet made friends with someone in Evereska and they were close. Scarlet had to keep her dhampir-ness a secret.

She and her best friend got into an argument one day, which upset Scarlet. Without having any control over her impulses she accidentally killed her best friend.

She goes home to tell her parents, to which frightened them. After their negative reaction, it had triggered Scar and she had accidentally killed them too. She was four.

She was exiled from Evereska. Deemed a monster from the hells.

Scarlet found her way to Baldur's Gate, trying to find a new life. She lived in an orphanage for a while, but accidentally attacked a child for their blood. She didn't have control over her thirst.

She got kicked out and lived on the streets as an Urchin for about three years.

A high elf elder, named Rivorn, a judge in Baldur's Gate, discovered her and called her a "pretty little thing." He bought her off some slavers.

Scarlet then lived with Judge Rivorn for 25 years. He forced her into a betrothal, and was waiting until she was "of age" to marry her. But behind closed doors he still treated her however he wanted to.

Rivorn was highly regarded. He was able to bend the law to his will and was very corrupt. He knew Cazador and worked with him, doing corrupt favors. Used to be Astarion's superior when Astarion was a magistrate (small world).

No one knew he had Scarlet captive. He kept her in his estate locked up in her room like a caged bird for 26 years. She wasn't allowed to talk to anyone. Cazador could smell her scent in the estate upon his visits and wanted her for himself, to breed more dhampirs. Judge Rivorn wouldn't allow it and Cazador needed him alive. Knowing the judge was old, Cazador figured he was patient enough to wait out his death.

Scarlet was forced into a betrothal with Judge Rivorn at age seven. The Judge had placed a binding spell on Scarlet, which protected him. She could never do him any harm, and he could compel her when he felt like. She was his plaything, his doll. Scarlet became a victim to CSA rather quickly.

She wasn't allowed to talk back, she wasn't allowed to speak unless told to. She was trained to become a noblewoman to fit the perfect trophy wife role. The Judge never allowed her to learn to read, to cook, anything. He didn't want to her to know anything about the world.

If she ever disobeyed him, tried to run away, he would give her lashings on her back. He never touched any other part of her body since he wanted her to be perfect, so he chose a place where no one would know unless she was naked.

She was locked up in cold small empty cellar for over a year without food, water and blood as punishment for running away. She fed on vermin and bugs when she could find them.

She became frail and skinny. She's already petite.

She never learned to read, but stole an Infernal book from the Judge's library in his house and taught herself to read Infernal secretly.

She taught herself to dance and sing and only did it on her own time to pass time. She wasn't allowed to do anything per the Judge. He wanted her to be a doll.

Judge Rivorn would refuse her blood as punishment and a way to control her. He would leave a piece of meat outside her bedroom door, until she'd give in to his orders. She would wait and smell rotting flesh after a while to which the servants replace. Eventually she would give in and do as he says.

She has trauma with blood and meat diet-wise, so she follows mostly a vegetarian diet and only eats meat/drinks blood when she has to.

When she turned thirty-three, the Judge was going to assault her. Scar blacked out and when she came to, his gore and blood was everywhere and on her.

She took his gold and ran from the estate.

After escaping the estate, Scarlet spent her freedom dancing for coin and entertaining guests.

She worked at the Elfsong and Sharess's Caress as an entertainer.

She was nicknamed Untouchable Scarlet due to never letting clients touch her, and she refused sexual/physical contact.

Because it was her first time back in society she found it difficult to control her urges and hunger for blood.

She'll lure guests into a private room and drain them of their blood, while also satiating her urges of murder.

She wandered Faerun, traveling, and dancing. She joined a troupe, performing her unique Blood Dance art for guests, however, misfortune befalls the troupe when she wakes and had murdered them.

Scarlet arrives at the Temple of Bhaal. She meets her Father for the first time, and other cultists.

Scarlet multi-classes into a Paladin, swearing an Oath to Bhaal to be his most devoted daughter and Chosen.

Orin usurps Scarlet.

Scarlet is kept as Kressa Bonedaughter's pet.

Kressa experiments on Scarlet, fascinated by how quick Scarlet heals.

Scarlet was mutilated by Kressa on multiple accounts, because of her fast healing she didn't sustain scars from Kressa as she was fed blood.

Kress hires Araj Oboldra so they can find ways she can use Scarlet's blood to give mortals immortality, permanently or even temporary.

Scar is a CSA survivor.

Never developed proper emotional intelligence since she was isolated for a very long time. She is numb and lacks empathy. Lacks self-awareness.

She dissociates often.

After her abuser dies, she avoids sex and any potential relationships like the plague.

Has a fear of touch and fear of intimacy.

When she meets the companions, she starts to learn more of empathy. She gets to know the others and try to understand things from their point of view. But sometimes can be callous.

She tries to show kindness where she can, when she tries to become a better person.

She knows what it's like to not have autonomy over oneself. It is how she and Astarion can relate to one another.

In Scarlet's childhood and adolescence, she was kept isolated in an estate, much like Johanna and Rapunzel. Rapunzel has fear of commitments/being trapped, which Scarlet dislikes as well.

Sassy like Esmerelda & dancer - independent. Doesn't follow the rules.

Villanelle: Sassy, does things her way, doesn't care for consequences. Chaotic energy.

Similar energy to Wanda Maximoff. Doesn't care for consequences. Sometimes tunnel-visions on her wants.

For commissions from other 3D artists as long as they know they may only use the asset for your commission.

Use for unlimited commercial projects with no limit on sales or views.

Assets, unless requested you the client, will be made from scratch. I do not use pre-existing assets in my work unless requested.

Your commission will be worked on alongside other projects. If you require priority/deadline, please be mindful there is a 25% rush fee if deadline is within minimum 2 months. I will not accept short-notice comms that are <2 week deadline.

Clients with confidential projects will be given a code-name on the trello queue.

I do not work weekends. This is time for me to relax and recharge.

Payment is only required once the commission is ready to start.

Prices may change anytime to match current market trends. You may negotiate the quote & budget with me or request partial payment.

Everything will be paid through PayPal, all pricing is in USD.

Once you pay the invoice, I will put you in the concepting/mock-up stage, this is where I do research on my end and create mock-ups of your asset. Please allow 0-10 business days for me to contact you during this phase.

3D assets made may not be modified under any circumstances. If there is an issue with the mod, let me know so I can fix it.

If I have to work with a pre-existing mod, you must get permission from the original mod author.

IRL LIKENESS: Due to legal matters I will not create likenesses based on actors/models. Only from those with their permission to use likeness. You may however draw inspiration from others' likenesses to create a new face and I can work with you on that.

After the commission is done and your have your .pak, you may take your mod to another artist to get it rigged for anims/daz/blender as well.

Stated as above - other artists may not use or modify my files for their own personal use. It may only be used for your commission.
